Sunshine Club

The Sunshine Club is a nurturing fellowship for older adults ... however ... there is no minimum or maximum age for membership in this group.

The club meets the third Thursday of each month from September through May, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center.

There is always an interesting program, a delicious meal prepared by Charlotte Derry, singing, and other activities.  A Sunshine Choir was started in the spring of 2011, and we rehearse at 12:30 p.m. immediately after Sunshine Club is finished.  Come and join the fun!!!!  We have been invited to sing at Whiteoak Campground on Saturday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m.!

Day trips and overnight excursions are included throughout the year.  Here are just a few of the trips we have taken in recent years:

Madison, GA (day trip - shopping excursion)

Johns Island (New England)

Lake Lanier (Christmas Lights)

Atlanta Braves Game

Carlos Museum of Emory Univeristy

Williamsburg, VA

Savannah, GA

Stone Mountain (Laser Show)

Lake Junaluska, NC (Christmas at Lambeth)

Explorations in Antiquities Museum (LaGrange, GA)

Currently, attendance averages 85 - 100 people for each meeting.  Members come from some 20 different area churches.  So, we are a very ecumenical organizaiton.

Everyone is invited to visit at any time.  There are no dues, and the cost of the meals is $6.00 per person.  We do request that you make reservations for each month's meeting by calling the church office (706-595-3936) before noon on the Tuesday before the meeting date.  We will have on-line registration options available soon.

Send an e-mail to make a reservation.  Be sure and state the date of the lunch or the name of the event, your name, and the number of people the reservation is for.
